This month, I will be joining the team of artists who have been contracted to deliver activity packs to families in Bensham & Gateshead.

I have been partnered up with The Comfrey Project to deliver the project which i'm very excited about! During the pandemic, I have been volunteering with them, and so, have gotten to know the organisation and the people who work with them fairly well. The Comfrey Project is a charity which works with refugees and asylum seekers to improve conditions of life, general well-being, skills building, resilience & confidence. You can find The Comfrey Project just off of Bensham Road. As you come up the path, to the left, you can start to see the beautiful gardens that they have created on site with the team of volunteers and service users. There gardens are filled with onion patches, giant poppies, leafy cabbages, bees and plenty more.

During the pandemic, they have been delivering food parcels to their service users as well as gardening packs and activity packs. This month I will be working with them to create an activity pack where participants can try their hands at puppet building using materials found round the house and drawing from puppets used in different cultures.

I will be posting another update on this project once it's starts taking shape.
